English Premier League giants Arsenal are still determined to sign Denis Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Gunners reportedly wanted to strike a deal with the Swiss international last season before turning to other options, but the midfielder is now set to become available on a free transfer.
“Christian Falk reports that Arsenal are interested in Denis Zakaria ahead of the summer, as the player runs down his contract with Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach,” the Daily Cannon reported.
“Arsenal were linked with Zakaria over the summer, and Gladbach were open to selling, but it was never likely to go through unless Granit Xhaka left – which he didn’t, in the end. Signing him on a free transfer does seem more realistic,” the report added.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta’s side is looking ahead to facing Leicester City in the Premier League this weekend.
