🦁 EPL: Smith Rowe to the resuce for Arsenal; Leicester, Tottenham held

Emile Smith Rowe scored the only goal of the match as Arsenal overcame Watford 1-0 in an English Premier League clash played at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

The match got off to a lively start as both teams went straight at each other, exchanging blow after blow.

The first chance fell to the Gunners in the seventh minute, and they scored through Bukayo Saka, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.

The Gunners were then given a perfect opportunity to open the scores from the spot after Alexandre Lacazette was brought down in the box by Danny Rose.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang however failed to find the back of the net, with the Ben Forster making a perfect stop.

The two teams could not be separated at half-time as the scores remained 0-0.

Arsenal started the second period with real intent, threatening time and again.

Their persistence then paid off in the 56th minute as the Gunners' number 10 pounced on a loose ball on the edge of the box to rifle in the opener.

Aubameyang thought he had doubled his side's lead in the 74th minute when he scored, but just like Saka's, the goal was ruled out for offside.

Watford were then reduced to 10 men in the dying minutes of the game after Juraj Kucka was shown a second yellow of the game for a foul.

Arsenal held on to win the game and move to fifth on the standings.

In another match, Leeds United held Leicester City to a 1-1 draw at home.

Raphina scored for Marcelo Bielsa's side in the 26tth minute, but Harvey Barnes hit back a minute later as they shared the spoils.

Elsewhere, Antonio Conte's life in the Premier League at Tottenham did not go as planned, after they were forced to settle for a point in a 0-0 draw at Goodison Park.

The hosts were reduced to 10 men in injury time after Mason Holgate was shown a straight red card.
