Premier League side Leicester City have received a blow after manager Brendan Rodgers revealed that striker Jamie Vardy could be set for a long time on the sidelines.
According to Rodgers, the Englishman played with an injury during the club’s recent win over Liverpool and looked to have picked a new knock in a challenge with Joel Matip.
“Jamie will be out for the weekend. It depends, it could be the next three to four weeks. He wasn’t sure whether it was that (in a challenge with Joël Matip) or he felt the pain then.
“He ran on and soldiered on which he wanted to do, but the scan has shown up as that (a hamstring injury) so it could be three to four weeks,” Rodgers said in his presser.
Apart from Vardy, Rodgers confirmed that midfielder James Maddison “should be fine” for the upcoming Norwich City clash with Harvey Barnes returning to training. Left-back Ryan Bertrand should be back in full training next week in what will be a boost for the side that currently sits ninth on the table.
