Truth be told, Lionel Messi’s move to Paris Saint-Germain has looked an awkward mess so far.
News out of France claims that Messi has been accused of showing no respect to the club and his coach Mauricio Pochettino.
After catching the COVID-19, it has been reported that Pochettino only discovered the news through a third party. Additionally, Messi has hardly updated the club on his health before flying home to Argentina to quarantine.
Former PSG midfielder Jérôme Rothen has expressed shock and concern over Messi’s behaviour.
“You must always respect your coach, this is what I was taught in Clairefontaine," Rothen told Radio Montecarlo.
“The coach must be above everyone else, it does not matter if it is a star or a youth player – the boss must be the head of the time.
“Pochettino was not updated as to where Messi was, and that explains a lot of things.
“This is not a good thing and I think it is very shocking from Messi,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, PSG are set to take on Brest in Ligue 1 this weekend.
