🚨 AFCON 2021: Ivory Coast held by Sierra Leone; Tunisia dump Mauritania out

Ivory Coast conceded a late goal to draw 2-2 against a determined Sierra Leon side in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon on Sunday evening.

Sebastien Haller and Nicolas Pepe's goals on either side of Musa Noah Kamara's strike seemed to be enough to send the Elephants through to the round of 16, but a late Alhaji Kamara goal ensured the teams shared the spoils.

The Elephants started the match on a high and maintained the tempo throughout the game in a dominant performance.

Their first chance arrived in the 12th minute when Umaru Bangura committed a foul inside the box, leaving the referee with an easy decision to award a penalty.

Franck Kessié however missed from the spot as goalkeeper Mohamed Kamara made an easy stop to keep his side in the game.

Ajax dangerman Haller however changed the scoreline in the 25th minute after getting on the end of a brilliant pass and firing a precise shot that went inside the right post!

Mohamed Buya Turay almost pulled his side level in the 39th minute after he went on a mazy run through the defence and got within shooting range inside the box, but his low effort to the middle of the target was thwarted by Badra Ali Sangare.

They however pulled level in the 53rd minute as Musa Noah Kamara controlled the ball with an excellent first touch on the edge of the penalty box after receiving a splendid pass and smashing the ball into the top right corner.

Nicolas Pepe then restored Ivory Coast's lead in the 65th minute after he latched on to a pass and produced a perfect strike from the edge of the box that went inside the left post and past the goalkeeper.

Wilfried Zaha and Badra Ali Sangare came close to adding Ivory Coast's lead late on but the chances went begging.

They were meant to pay as Kamara seized on a loose ball after a huge error from Badra Ali Sangare and found the back of the net from inside the box.

The draw means Ivory Coast are atop their group on four points, with Sierra Leon second on two points.

In another match, Tunisia bounced back to winning ways with a convincing 5-0 win over Mauritania.

St. Etienne forward Wahbi Khazri was the star of the show as he grabbed a brace, with a goal in each half.

It was Hamza Mathlouthi though who set them on the path to victory with a fourth-minute goal before Khazri made it 2-0 in the ninth minute.

He then added a second in the 65th minute before Seifeddine Jaziri completed the rout two minutes later.

Youssef Msakni missed the chance to make it 5-0 deep in added time, missing a penalty after Hassan Houbeib was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box.

The win boosts Tunisia's chances of making it to the next round, having watched Mali and Gambia battle to a 1-1 draw in an earlier match.
