The bookies have made Manchester United great Wayne Rooney the favorite to take over as Everton manager.
The odds have been announced following the sacking of Rafa Benitez by the Merseyside club on Sunday afternoon.
After Everton's 2-1 loss to Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday, the club's owners summoned an emergency boardroom meeting. The defeat dropped Benitez's club six points above the relegation zone, effectively ending his stint at Goodison Park.
The odds for who will succeed the former Newcastle manager in the blue half of Liverpool have been compiled by Oddschecker, and Rooney is the clear heavy favorite for the position, with odds of 6/5.
The 36-year-old began his football career with Everton and grew up as a fan.
He is currently in charge of Derby County in the Championship, where his side moved off the bottom of the table yesterday with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United - despite the Rams having been docked 21 points this season.
But, Rooney isn't the only United name being mentioned in connection with the post.
Michael Carrick is a 16/1 shot, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Jose Mourinho are both 25/1, Ruud van Nistelrooy is 33/1, Steve Bruce is 66/1, and Roy Keane is far off at 75/1.
Who will replace Benitez?
