Brentford are closing down on the free signing of Christian Eriksen, with the midfielder scheduled to undergo a physical early next week.
Eriksen has been without a club since last month, when he opted to terminate his Inter contract due to Serie A rules prohibiting him from playing with his implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, which was implanted following his cardiac attack in June 2021.
Despite receiving many Premier League bids, 90min reports that Eriksen is close to sealing a transfer to Brentford, with a physical scheduled for early next week, though this process might take several days.
Financial terms are not believed to have played a role in the player's decision to join the Bees, who have a large Danish component at all levels of the club.
Brentford boss Thomas Frank coached Eriksen for Denmark's junior teams, and it is believed that the 48-year-old is close to signing a new deal.
Frank's current contract runs out in 2023, and Brentford wanted to thank him for the fantastic job he's done in taking the club to the Premier League for the first time.
