Arsenal equal unwanted 16-year-old record after 0-0 Burnley draw

Arsenal have equaled a 16-year-old club record following Sunday's Premier League draw with Burnley.

The London side lacked forward spark against Sean Dyche's side and saw Alexandre Lacazette squander a golden opportunity to win the match at the Emirates.

This goalless draw extended Arsenal's winless streak in 2022 to five matches and marked their fourth consecutive game without a goal.

Arsenal have now failed to score in four consecutive matches in all competitions for the first time since December 2005, after failing to break down the Burnley defense on Sunday.

Arsenal drew blanks against Bolton Wanderers, Ajax, Newcastle United, and Chelsea over that 16-year stretch before finally breaking their drought against Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup.

The Gunners squandered an opportunity to reclaim a Champions League spot on Sunday, but are just two points behind Manchester United with a game in hand.

Mikel Arteta's side have yet to sign a new player during the January transfer window, and the Spaniard stated during Sunday's game that he is unsure whether any moves will materialize this month.
