🇪🇸 De Gea climbs Man United's clean sheet charts

Marcus Rashford scored a late goal as Man United beat West Ham 1-0 in an English Premier League match on Saturday evening.

The Englishman's goal sent United fans into a frenzy, but it could have been a different result were it not for the brilliance of David de Gea

The Spaniard was at his best as he kept out the West Ham attack, led by Michail Antonio and Tomas Soucek.

He kept yet another clean sheet, which took him above club legend Gary Bailey in the all-time clean sheets table.

This was De Gea's 162nd clean sheet and is aiming for Alex Stepney's record in second.

Stepney has an impressive total of 175 clean sheets, accumulated over the course of 539 games in his 13-year stint with the Reds.

De Gea however is some way off from top spot, which is held by arguably the club's top goalkeeper of all time, Peter Schmeichel.

Man Utd's all-time clean sheets

  • Peter Schmeichel: 180 clean sheets / 398 appearances
  • Alex Stepney: 175 / 539
  • David De Gea: 162 / 469
  • Gary Bailey: 161 / 375
  • Edwin van der Sar: 135 / 266
