🟢🔵Old Firm Derby: Celtic thrash Rangers

Celtic went top of the Scottish Premiership after thrashing arch-rivals Rangers 3-0 in an Old Firm Derby staged on Wednesday night at Celtic Park.

Rangers were always going to find it hard to cope with the demands of the ground as there are no away fans allowed into stadiums in Scotland at the moment and it only took five minutes for the hosts to take the lead.

Japanese midfielder gave the hosts the lead after five minutes when he slotted home courtesy of a deflected after a well-taken corner had landed in his path.

Visiting goalkeeper Allan McGregor had to produce three more saves to keep out the hosts but it was only a matter of time as Hatate added a second three minutes to the break before Celtic added a third two minutes later through Liel Abada.

It was Rangers' first loss against Celtic since 2019 with the win seeing the Hoops leapfrogging their opponent to the top of the table with a one-point gap difference; both teams having played 24 games.
