Arsenal offered Juventus defender in swoop deal for Ramsey

12 Jan 2019, 11:25

With Aaron Ramsey set to join Juventus when his contract expires, the Italian champions are exploring possible ways to land the midfielder in the January transfer window and are reported to be offering defender Medhi Benatia in exchange for the Welshman.

Reports have indicated that Ramsey is close to signing a pre-contract with Juventus that will see him join them at the end of the season when his Arsenal contract runs out. In a press conference ahead of the West Ham United league clash, Unai Emery couldn’t assure Ramsey’s future at the club, “It’s an individual situation rather than the team. My idea and focus, I say to him every day, is that we need his performance for us. In the last match I was very happy with him.”

Italian news outlet, Gazzetta dello Sport, reported that Juventus are closing in on a deal to sign the Welshman in the summer, but the report claims The Bianconeri are keen to speed the deal up and one way of doing that could be by offering Morocco international defender Mehdi Benatia.
