Asante Kotoko head coach CK Akonnor has lamented his side's 1-1 draw with Al Hilal in the CAF Confederation Cup, and and also accepted the must-win final group game against Zesco United next week.
The Porcupine Warriors ruined a chance to qualify for the last eight on Sunday, by drawing 1-1 with Sudanese side Hilal at home in Kumasi.
“Throughout the week, we weren’t ourselves. Honestly I don’t know what happened but Konte (Bonsu) who has been the been the engine of the team wasn’t himself today," Akonnor told the media.
“We really suffered in the game. It felt like a defeat. Now we have to go to Zambia and win.
“No coach would be happy with the results. We kept losing key players in the team. Sometimes it difficult."
“We have to go to Zambia and win whatever the situation. Those who are injured are injured. We have to make do without them,” he concluded.
A win for the Ghanaians in Zambia will book a place in this season's CAFCC quarter-finals.
