Bidvest Wits head coach Gavin Hunt is still hopeful of winning the 2018/19 Absa Premiership, saying the current race is the most testing one he’s ever come across after three decades in football.

The four-time league winning coach spoke after his side’s shock 2-0 defeat to AmaZulu last weekend.

"We failed to deal with their long balls, they were always on the front foot," Hunt told KickOff.

"Despite having a better second half, we couldn't get the result we needed. We are very disappointed by these latest results, it's a bad patch.

"We've been conceding a lot in the second round caused by individuals errors, if it was not for that, we would be leading by five points on the log.

Sitting fourth with seven more games, Hunt believes The Clever Boys came still claim glory in May.

"Look, two or three teams have a better chance but some are still gonna face each other and that will give others an opportunity.

"We are not out yet, this league is crazy, the most challenging one in my 30 years in football,” Hunt concluded.
