Switzerland's free-scoring ways on home soil will be put up to the test against the defensive solidity of Denmark, but the midfield battle is likely to be where the match is won and lost.

Match preview 🗣
This clash of the group’s top two seeds, who haven’t met since 1999, promises excitement, and some pundits already see it as a major clash that could determine the eventual group winner. Switzerland has scored five or more goals in three of their last six home matches, but that record will be tested here against a side that has kept four clean sheets in their last seven matches.
Switzerland's last six home matches have featured under 2.5 goals and that seems to be the way to go again here, especially so early on in the qualification stages. We can see both sides scoring, however.
Xhaka vs Eriksen battle 🔴⚪️
English Premier League based duo Xherdan Shaqiri and Fabian Schar are both injured for the hosts, meaning that Borussia Mönchengladbach centre back Nico Elvedi will be drafted in for Schar and Breel Embolo is likely to start wide in midfield in the absence of Shaqiri. Denmark will be at full strength and as always, Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen will be the man pulling the strings.
Fascinatingly, Arsenal's Granit Xhaka will be tasked with picking Eriksen up all game, and the outcome of that mini-contest might decide the outcome of the match.
