This past week has seen the Super Eagles of Nigeria giving birth to a new star: Paul Ebere Onuachu. Futaa finds five facts you may not know about the Danish-based striker.
By now, one already known fact about Onuachu is that he plays for Denmark’s FC Midtjylland… but what else is there to know about the 24-year-old striker?
Onuachu's five facts:
Onouchu hails from the South-East region of Nigeria, Owerri, which is located in the Imo State. He was born on 28 May 1994.
After starting his football career for Nigeria’s F.C. Ebedei, he moved to Denmark’s Midtjylland via a scholarship in 2012 when he was aged 18.
One striking feature about Onuachu is the player’s towering height. He stands at 2,01 meters.
4. Season goal tally
The striker's goal form this season gives a clear reason why coach Gernot Rohr has called him up to the Super Eagles. He has smashed in 17 goals and made six assists in 31 games.
5. Call-up & debut goal
The striker is quite brand new to the Super Eagles set up, getting his first call up this month, while his famous 6th-second goal against Egypt yesterday was on his first official start.
Whichever nations will be drawn in Nigeria’s AFCON group on 21st April, they will surely identify Onuachu as a dangerman.
