Cape Town City have won the Absa Premiership Q-Innovation quarter three award of R1.5m, closing beating Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United.
The Q-Innovation is the system of splitting the schedule into four fixture-blocks referred to as quarters, the first and third blocks have eight fixtures, the second and fourth blocks have seven fixtures.
Prize money is given to the teams who finish top of the table after each block of fixtures.
The Citizen’s Q3 win comes after five wins, two draws and one defeat from the last five.
“Cape Town City will receive R1.5 million in prize money. They were closely followed by another side that has turned the corner in the league, SuperSport United who finished with 15 points from the same number of games (8),” the PSL said in a press release on www.psl.co.za
“Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates finished third and fourth respectively. The former managed 14 points while the latter was on 13 points. The PSL congratulates Cape Town City for this achievement,” concluded the PSL.
