English Premier League side Arsenal has revealed Danny Welbeck will leave the club this summer; this as revealed by an on-pitch announcement.
During a post-match presentation following Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Brighton, it was revealed Welbeck will become a free agent this summer and manager Unai Emery confirmed the exit in his press conference.
"I spoke with the club and the decision is he is going to leave," Unai said.
Unai’s sentiments echoed those of the PA announcer who had earlier said: “His presence will be missed in the dressing room.”
Welbeck was part of the Gunners' 2017 FA Cup winners’ team and also finished as runners-up in the League Cup a year later. Welbeck will depart Arsenal having made 126 appearances over five season - with 32 goals.
Welbeck has only managed 14 appearances for the Gunners in an injury-plagued final season in north London and has been linked with a move to Newcastle.
The 28-year-old joined from Manchester United in a £16million move in 2014.
