Black Leopards head coach Dylan Kerr has come out to say that mistakes were the reason for his side fighting against relegation from the Absa Premiership this season.
As the season comes to an end, a win at home against Cape Town City will guarantee possible survival although Kerr believes that elementary errors must be ironed out.
The Leopards coach further suggested that his club would have been in a better position on the log had they defended better over the opponents they have faced.
After the recent 1-1 draw with AmaZulu, he told the media: "We have to be realistic as coaches. In football, it's not about playing beautifully but it's about winning matches and we didn't do that.
"We made some mistakes not only today but if you look at other matches like Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits and Polokwane City, there were things we were supposed to avoid but couldn't.
"I'm satisfied by our performance [against AmaZulu], the players responded very well. I'm really proud of them, it's just disappointing because we didn't get what we wanted. I did warn them about trusting other teams to do favours for us."
Saturday's clash against the Citizens is set for15:00 at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
