Arsenal is waiting on a report from Uefa that will determine whether or not Henrik Mkhitaryan will feature for the club in the finals of the Europa League against Chelsea on May 29th.
Arsenal had requested for additional safety measures as the two sides prepare for the clash, with Mikhtaryan caught in between political tensions involving Azerbaijan, where the match will be held and his home country; Armenia.
Mikhtaryan missed the club's group clash against Qarabag in Azerbaijan due to the same reasons, but the club is now seeking to find a solution for the final match.
In a statement that was released on Friday, the club revealed that they had inquired on the possibility of having added security detail for the player.
“Acceptable guarantees have not been received yet, and we hope that Uefa will be able to supply these promptly. We are of course hugely concerned that the location of the final could lead to Micki not being able to play in a European final," read a statement from the club.
Euefa is set to confirm whether or not they will meet Arsenal's extra demands, which will be pivotal in his participation in the finals.
It will be a blow for the Gunners if the Armenian will not play, as they hope to lift the title that will also guarantee them a spot in next year's Champions League.
