Arsenal's first bid for Claude-Maurice rejected

According to Get French Football News (GFFN), French side Lorient have rejected Arsenal’s bid for Alexis Claude Maurice.

As widely reported across Europe, Unai Emery is chasing the 14-goals and four assists 20-year-old attacker in the French Ligue 2.

“Arsenal have had an opening offer of €7 million (£6.2 million) ‘rejected’ for Alexis Claude-Maurice,” wrote TalkSPORTS.

“According to GFFN, the Gunners have moved to sign the 20-year-old attacker, but had their first bid turned down by Lorient. The right-footed left winger who wear's number 10 for Lorient, came through the club's academy - while also having played for France at U18, U19 and U20.

“Unai Emery’s men are expected to return with an improved proposal.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal have left London to take on Chelsea in the UEFA Europa League final in Azerbaijan in Wednesday.
