A goal in each half was enough for World Cup finalists Croatia as they beat Wales 2-1 in a Euro 2020 qualifier on Saturday in Osijek.
The hosts took early control of the match going ahead after just 17 minutes into the match when under pressure Wales centre-back James Alexander Lawrence put the ball into his own net.
The hosts doubled their advantage almost immediately after the break when Inter Milan striker Ivan Perisic pounced on a rebound inside the box and gleefully rifled the ball low inside the left post.
David Brooks halved the deficit for Wales with less than quarter an hour of regular time to play when he picked the ball up in space from the edge of the box and lashed in a shot that deflected past Dominik Livakovic in the Croatian goal.
Croatia's increased pressure almost paid off with a third goal in the last minute only for Andrej Kramaric to shoot the ball straight at the goalkeeper.
The win means Croatia are now top of Group E with six points after three games.
