Black Stars players will receive $8,000  each in appearance fee when they represent the nation in the Africa Cup of Nations tournament set to start this month in Egypt.

The boys, who are currently camping in Dubai, reached an agreement with the Sports Ministry and will head to Egypt in buoyant mood.

The Ghana Football Association took the step to ensure a situation' similar to what happened during the 2014 World Cup does not occur again.

During the tournament, the government was forced to fly money to pay the players, who had threatened to boycott their last match against Portugal if they could not be paid their appearance fee.

Ghana, who named their final squad on Tuesday, will play their second and last friendly match against Bafana Bafana, before heading out to Egypt for the tournament.

They lost their last match 1-0 to Namibia but will be rearing to go in Egypt, where they are pooled in Group F alongside defending champions Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau.

They are considered among the favourites to fo all the way but will have to be at their best to beat the rest of the 24 teams to the title.

They have not won the trophy for 37 years now, and hope the long wait will be finally over in the North Africa Country.
