Argentina legend Diego Maradona has stepped down as the manager of Mexican side Dorados amid health complications.

It’s understood that Maradona is set to undergo operations on his shoulder and knee in the near future. Maradona has lasted under a year at the club and has failed to gain promotion to the Mexican top flight on two occassions. The 58-year-old was hospitalized in January with a health scare but has spent much of his time in Mexico using a walking stick, due to arthritis in both knees.

Dorados took to Twitter to thank Maradona for his services, "Together we surprised the world. We show that football is passion and heart. Thanks for everything, Boss! Recover and see you soon!"
