BREAKING: AFC Leopards midfielder retires from football

Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards has confirmed that midfielder Ezekiel Seda has retired from football.

Seda has been struggling with a knee injury since his days at Mathare United and in a statement, Leopards confirmed that the player has terminated his contract with them as he was looking for his next chapter after football.

The statement noted: “Ezekiel Seda has terminated his contract with the club. This is due to a knee injury he sustained in a KPL match vs Bandari FC in Mombasa.”

On his part, Seda said: "This is the has been the hardest to make, this injury has led me to consider my playing career and I have come to a conclusion that at this point I would wish to put an end to my playing career and pursue other ventures.

“I would love to thank the AFC Leopards administration for giving me the opportunity to play for this great club for the last year.

“The club has stood with me through my injury and ensured that I received adequate medical care and rehabilitation."

The departure comes at a time that the club is in need of a revamp following the departure of more than five players.

Seda joined the den in June 2018 from KPL rivals Mathare United.
