AFCON 2019: Rohr shrugs off injury scare ahead of semi final clash

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has shrugged off injury scare from some of his players.

Striker Odion Ighalo, winger Ahmed Musa and defender Chidozie Awaziem are all suffering some form of injury after the 2-1 quarter final victory over South Africa.

But Rohr trust the judgement of his medical team who has assured of the Super Eagles players' fitness before the semi final clash against Algeria on Sunday.

“Odion Ighalo has a calf injury, Ahmed Musa has adductor while Chidozie Awaziem coped ankle.

“But the team doctor has assured me that the said players will be ready and fit to play in the semi-finals,” Rohr told SportingLife.

Algeria beat Ivory Coast 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 score on regulation time and after extra time.
