Algeria booked their third African Cup of Nations final after a pulsating 2-1 win over Nigeria in a match staged at the Cairo International Stadium on Sunday 14th July.
Nigeria were unfortunate to go behind in the 40th minute when William Troost-Ekong who was the hero as they dumped South Africa out of the tournament turned Riyadh Mahrez's wicked cross onto his own net. Nigeria were handed a penalty which Odion Ighalo calmly slotted to the bottom right corner in the 72nd minute.
Mahrez was a thorn in the flesh of Nigeria and handed them a last-gasp win in the 95th minute with a sumptuous free-kick.
