Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has equalled the Africa Cup of Nations goal records scored by a Nigerian.
Ighalo scored his 5th goal at the AFCON 2019 in Nigeria's 1-0 win over Tunisia to win the bronze medal on Wednesday.
That goal equalled Rashidi Yekini's record which he achieved when the Super Eagles won their second AFCON title in Tunisia in 1994.
Ighalo has now equalled late Rashidi Yekini’s 25-year-old goal scoring record of five at AFCON.
Emmanuel Emenike came close when Nigeria won the AFCON trophy in 2013,n scoring four goals and emerging top scorer.
Wednesday's feat is Nigeria's 8th AFCON bronze medal.
