Reports: Manchester United make shock £62m bid for Arsenal star Aubameyang

Manchester United have reportedly made a bid for Arsenal star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

According to FCInterNews, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made a £62million bid for the Gabon international, whom he sees as a perfect replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who is poised to join Inter Milan.

Arsenal will, however, try to resist United's attempts to sign Aubameyang, who finished last season as a joint-top goalscorer in the Premier League.

Emery has no plans of letting Aubameyang leave the club, especially after striking a perfect partnership with Alexandre Lacazette.

Lukaku, on the other hand, has grown frustrated at the club, after learning that Marcus Rashford will still be Solskjaer's first-choice striker next season.

He is keen on joining Antonio Conte' Inter Milan this summer, having made it clear in the recent past that he would love a chance to play in Italy.

The Italian giants are said to in negotiations over the 26-year-old, but their valuation is way below what United want.

Solskjaer has indicated he is aware of Lukaku's desire to leave but insisted they will have a strong team for the next campaign.

He said: “You know, the day we start the league I’m sure everyone who’s here will give absolutely everything for Manchester United,"

“There’s always rumours, speculation about Man United players but when the league starts we batten the hatches down and we stick together as a team.”

Lukaku hasn't taken part in the two preseason matches with United so far, with the last being the 4-0 win over Leeds United on Wednesday.
