Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer has moved to assure youngster Diogo Dalot that his future is at Old Trafford, following the arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
Wan-Bissaka is widely expected to be the number one choice at right-back for United next season, raising questions over Dalot's future.
However, Solskjaer sees both players as United's future and has hinted at rotating the two on the wing as a right back-back and a winger.
"We're trying to build a squad that can have a long life," Solskjaer explained as quoted by Manchester Evening News. "And with Diogo and Aaron, we have got two right-backs that will be very good players.
"Diogo can play right-wing and has probably gone from right-back to being able to play right wing. And Aaron has been right wing that can play right-back," he added.
"They can give us good options on the right and Ashley can play both sides, he's played in the World Cup last summer for England at left-back and he can push Luke and Aaron and Diogo, no bother,"
Dalot, 20, made only 17 starts and six substitute appearances for United last season, and his potential was open for all to see.
This coming season was said to be the Portugues' breakout season, but Wan-Bissaka's signing might hamper his development.
