Zambian striker Lazarus Kambole had his first test defeat with his new teammates as Kaizer Chiefs suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Botswana side Township Rollers in a friendly match.
Kambole was named in the starting line up by coach Ernst Middendorp to lead the attack alongside fellow nnewcomerSamir Nurkovic and Bernard Parker.
Rollers came from a goal down to beat the Amakhosi. Parker put Chiefs in the lead barely two minutes into the match. A goal each from van der Westhuizen and Orebonye turned things around for Rollers as they claimed a 2-1 victory.
Kambole will be back in action next weekend in the Carling Black Label Cup after gathering over 27,000 votes to break into the starting lineup.
The interactive curtain-raiser that is the Carling Black Label Cup returns after being shelved in 2018 to accommodate the Fifa World Cup. Chiefs will face Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium on 27 July.
