Kaizer Chiefs have unveiled four of their newest faces while also confirming each player’s shirt numbers.
As previously reported on Futaa, Chiefs have brought in Kearyn Baccus (South African-Australian midfielder), Samir Nurkovic (Serbian striker), James Kotei (Ghanaian midfielder) and Lazarous Kambole (Zambian striker).
In a public event last night to launch the club’s new 2019/20 gear, Amakhosi’s supporters finally learned which player will don which number on their back.
Confirmed numbers:
- Baccus: Number 6
- Nurkovic: Number 9
- Kotei: Number 5
- Kambole: Number 7.

Additionally, the new number confirmations have also raised a couple of questions. While both the number 7 and 9 numbers have been vacated by the departed Ryan Moon and Gustavo Paez respectively, the previous owners of 6 (Andriamirado Andrianarimanana), 5 (Mario Booysen) are still at the club. This obviously leaves two possible outcomes, Andrianarimanana and Booysen will either take new numbers or are simply on their way out of the club.
Meanwhile, Chiefs are taking on Orlando Pirates in Saturday’s Carling Black Label Cup game at 3 pm from the FNB Stadium.
