What next for Francis Kimanzi after Mathare United

Francis Kimanzi stepped down from his position as the Mathare United head coach on Thursday as the club said he had requested to concentrate on his duty as the Harambee Stars assistant coach.

Revered by many upcoming coaches, Kimanzi knowledge in the game cant satisfy the national team alone with bookmakers already linking him with certain teams.

As one of the most qualified coaches Kenya has ever had, Kimanzi role in being a coach instructor can be used by the Football Kenya Federation to horn the upcoming coaches around the nation; a role he has played before but one people feel he should concentrate on a full-time basis.

But the instructor job is one that others don’t fancy for Kimanzi. With Kenyan Premier League newbies Wazito FC signing some experienced players as they prepare to take the top flight by storm, many feel Kimanzi experience is what is required by the team if they are to hit the ground running.

It is a role that many fancy he will take as money does not seem to be a problem for Wazito.

Another job that a few think Kim, as he is popularly known, think he should take is that of Ushuru FC. The club has struggled to reappear in the Kenyan top flight after numerous attempt and after the sacking of Ken Kenyatta, rumors going around is the club management sees Kimanzi as the person to get them to the Kenyan Premier League.

A few have urged him to take the step and try his skills in a foreign country but with a few Kenyan coaches taking this route, it is an unlikely option but one that can't be ruled out.

Wherever he chooses to go, Kimanzi will be a good addition to anything that touches on football.
