Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly agreed on a £22million fee to sign Bristol City in the ongoing summer transfer window according to Sky Sports reports.
Webster is set to further discuss personal terms and undergo a medical at the Falmer Stadium before signing on the dotted lines.
As speculation goes, Brighton is set to break their previous record signing of £17million when they bought Iran international winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh.
The fee that Brighton are prepared to pay for Webster will break the record transfer fee for a Championship defender, exceeding the £15million Burnley spent on centre-back Ben Gibson from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018.
