Derby County owner Mel Morris has confirmed the Championship club is attempting to finalize a move for former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.
The DC United striker is set to return to England in what is set to be a player-manager role with Derby. As reported by Sky Sports, the former England man was spotted at Derby training ground ahead of his proposed move from DC United.
"It's literally only been a couple of days in the offing. The starting point was that we understood he was keen to return to the UK and we decided to see if we could do something off the back of that,” Morris told Talksport.
"It's never done until it's done and obviously we are very focused and keen to get this over the line."
