Arsenal fans to wait for longer for Kieran Tierney's first club appearance

Arsenal fans will have to wait for a little longer to see their new signing Kieran Tierney in action after the club confirmed that the left-back will not return to training at least until at the end of October.

The former Celtic star was signed on deadline day of the recently shut summer transfer window but is still recovering from an injury he suffered while at the club.

The £25million arrival is highly regarded by many at the club and is seen as a future star who could eventually replace Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac.

The club has confirmed that he won't be making a recovery soon, saying;

 “Groin. Continues to receive treatment and further assessments. Aiming to participate in full training in October,"

Tierney remains positive of a timely recovery and revealed last week that he has been working hard in rehab to ensure he is back on the pitch.

“It's been fine for me. I've been working hard in rehab and I've had good people around me as well,"

“It's been easy for me. At Celtic I was training hard, working hard and just looking to get back fit. That was my main focus.

Arsenal opened their new season with a narrow 1-0 win over Newcastle and will be back in action this weekend at home against Burnley.
