Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has heaped praise on Mason Mount after the youngster shone once again in their 1-1 draw at home against Leicester City on Sunday evening.
The club academy graduate has been on an upward curve in recent months and has been a revelation for the club since joining from Derby County after his loan spell.
The 20-year-old put in superb performances against Manchester United and Liverpool and was once again at it against the Foxes on Sunday, grabbing the lone goal on his home debut for the club.
Speaking after the match, Lampard was fast in pointing out his evident talent, adding that he can only get better with time.
"The epitome of his talent was shown in his goal – great energy off the ball to close people down and then the quality to finish it. He could have scored two more goals in that opening period actually but we know he’s going to get better and better," he said as quoted by the club's website.
"That was the first of some big moments for Mason and I’m delighted for him on that level but I know he’ll have wanted that to be part of a win," he added.
The youngster too took to his social media to show his proud moment in the blue jersey.
"Unbelievable feeling to score my first goal for @ChelseaFC on my home debut. What dreams are made of! Shame to come away with just a point but we’ll keep working and come back stronger,"
Chelsea will next take on Norwich as they search for their first win. R
