Maritzburg United head coach Eric Tinkler was reportedly enraged by the fact that goalkeeper Richard Ofori was awarded the Man of the Match accolade in their stalemate against Stellenbosch.
Tinkler admitted that he felt Stellenbosch goalkeeper Boy De Jong deserved the award as he had put on a better performance as opposed to Ofori.
The former SuperSport United coach further reiterated that the accolade is ridiculous and the decisions made are rather questionable.
"I find that decision absolutely ridiculous," was his angry reaction to the Maritzburg United and Ghana 2019 Africa Cup of Nations shot-stopper being presented with a statuette and a cash prize.
"I really do not know how he was named man of the match when the other goalkeeper (Boy de Jong) was much busier," he added after a 0-0 draw with promoted Stellenbosch in Cape Town.
The 25-year-old, however, had something positive on his side - keeping his first clean sheet in the 2019/20 season.
