Emerson sends Chelsea fans injury update ahead of Wolves clash

Emerson Palmieri has played down injury concerns following his withdrawal during Italy's 2-1 win over Finland in a Euro 2020 qualifier match on Sunday night.

The left-back was withdrawn after seemingly suffering an injury, in a match they went on to win with Chelsea midfielder Jorginho scoring the winning goal from the spot.

However, the former Roma star has indicated the injury was not as serious as initially thought, terming it 'a small injury'.

"Very important win today guys. Unfortunately, I had a small injury, but nothing serious. Let's go on like this!"

Emerson has been one of the shining stars for Chelsea this campaign, and he looks a different player compared to his start to life at the club.

He has displaced Marcos Alonso and made the position his, with new coach Fran Lampard preferring him ahead of the Spaniard.

Chelsea are missing key stars ahead of their fixture against Wolves on Saturday, but Emerson's update can ease their concerns.

The Blues have only managed a single win out of a possible four, drawing two and losing one. They are currently 11th on the standings on 5 points.
