Zambia U23 national team head coach Beston Chambeshi says his team fought hard to fulfill a promise they made to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Andrew Kamanga.
Chambeshi was also quick to heap praise on his technical bench and the players for the job well done. He did not also forget to thank ZAVOSOFA leader Peter Makembo who traveled to Congo Brazzaville to drum up support for the team.
"In knowing its early in the morning so we want to thank you for the effort.Sir as we promised that we were going to deliver we had to fight hard and fulfill the promise. We also want to thank the Pastor (Peter Makembo) he did a great job it was like were not away as we could hear the drums," Chambeshi said shortly after arriving from Brazzaville.
"I would also like to thank my technical staff and the boys for the job well done. It was not easy but we had to fight to the final whistle. We are happy and now looking forward to the coming tournament," he added.
The team arrived at 01:10 hours at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and was welcomed by FAZ president Andrew Kamanga and secretariat staff.
