Kaizer Chiefs’ new Zambian goal-hunter Lazarous Kambole is yet to score. The former Zesco United man has been made to promise that the goals are coming.
Is a new striker’s failure to score in four games a real cause for concern? Well, Kambole has admitted to feeling the pressure.
Kambole had a return of 16 goals at Zesco in the Zambian Premier League. This fact stands to reason why the 25-year-old has his own scoring expectations.
“The pressure is there, but pressure is part of our careers,” Kambole told Kick Off. So you just have to know how to handle the pressure.”
Continuing in a more confident tone, the Lusaka-born man expressed the attitude that many fans and coaches love to hear: visualizing himself as a Chiefs serial goalscorer.
“Of course, things aren’t going my way because I’ve not scored yet, but I know the goals are coming, and when they come, it’s going to be something else.”
The man with an impressive seven goals in 15 international games for Zambia’s Chipolopolo, concluded the chat with the admission that scoring chances have actually come his way.
“Misses are part of football, but that’s what makes me push even harder because you can’t run away from the fact that I’ve missed chances,” he added.

“But of course, chances will come again, and this time I hope I will convert them,” Lazarous concluded.
