After being linked with a loan move to Barcelona, Unai Emery has played down the speculations by insisting that Mesut Ozil is still an Arsenal player.
Ozil has been linked with a switch away from the Emirates in January - with Arsenal even willing to subsidize his wages to offload his £350,000-a-week salary off their books. Ozil missed the 1-1 draw against Manchester United and has been snubbed on a number of occasions since last season.
Speaking ahead of their Europa League clash against Standard Liege, Emery discussed Ozil's future, "We are going to train then and after we are going to decide. I am going to decide the best first XI and in the squad also the best who can help us.”
Emery was asked about the speculations linking Ozil with a move out on loan in January and he simply replied, "He’s our player now."
