⚜️🇪🇸 🏆 Futaa Legends Series: Spain, kings of the world in 2010

Futaa's legends series takes a look back at some of the most iconic names in recent international football history.

We've selected a few stars that we most closely associate with the Spain National Football Team and some special memories of them on the international stage.

🧤 Iker Casillas

Saint Iker, as he was nicknamed, was adored by Spain fans ever since he made his debut in 2000 as a teenager. His all-time record of 167 Spain caps was recently eclipsed by Real Madrid icon Sergio Ramos after the centre back made his 168th appearance, but Casillas' legend as an influential, talented shot-stopper will live on forever as he skippered Spain to football's biggest prize in 2010 on African soil.

👠 Andrés Iniesta

One of Barcelona's truly iconic figures and a man that became an emblem for their infamous Tiki-Taka passing style football, Andrés Iniesta is a great of modern football. The stylish attacking midfielder famous for his sublime first touch, always looked to have so much time on the ball and often the way he glided across a pitch with such effortless ease made him look more like a ballerina than a footballer. Iniesta didn't score a lot of goals, but the ones that he did score were spectacular or at clutch moments. He broke Chelsea hearts in 2009 in the Champions League semifinal second leg with a goal from range to send Barcelona to the final. A year later, he scored the winner in the 116th minute to deliver World Cup glory to Spain for the first time in their history.

🥽 Xavi

The glue and heartbeat for Spain and Barcelona, Xavi is the man that called the tune for club and country with his sublime passing range and composure. Widely regarded as perhaps the best central midfielder the game has ever seen, Xavi Hernandez's influence on massive football matches was always apparent.
