Kisumu AllStars is ready to pick their first win in the Kenyan Premier League when they take on Mathare United in week six of league action.
All-Stars hosts Mathare United in Kisumu and according to head coach Henry Omino, the two-week rest has given them the time to prepare well for their opponents.
While admitting that the start to the league has not been the way they had expected, Omino was quick to thank their fans for sticking around and exuded confidence that the wins will come with the players’ metal aspect sorted about their run.
Not the Best Start
Speaking to Sports Review Kisumu, Omino said: “We have not had the best of starts to the season and lost our last match against Posta Rangers. The two-week break could have not come at a better time because I believe it has been vital in helping us in correcting mistakes.
“We are coming against a team that has not lost a league game and a team that has been together for some time but we have also prepared well and we will counter how they play. I know they will keep the ball for a long time and we are ready for that.
“Because of the run and the support we have received from our fans despite results, I am confident that we will get a good result. We are in good shape but it’s about the battle of the mind and we have made them know that it is very possible. It will be a tough match but we are prepared to get a win.”
