Warriors coach Joey Antipas has explained why Dynamos did not get any call or email in request for Evans Katema.
Zimbabwe’s locally-based selection will Lesotho in a CHAN 2020 qualifier, but the question on many people’s lips is why without Katema?
The Chicken Inn coach thus revealed that the striker has failed to fully recover from a recent shoulder injury.
“We are quite confident with the squad that we have. Obviously, we would have wanted all our best players available but one of the key men Evans is not at 100 percent,’’ Antipas told The Herald.

Though Katema was part of the 25-man preliminary squad, a further assessment proved informed the Warriors medical team he was not quite ready for Lesotho.
“We all know what he is capable of doing and we had to call him into our squad following his recovery from that injury.”
“But he last played competitive football a couple of weeks ago. We need everyone to be at 100 percent when going for such a battle,” Antipas added.
The weekend’s game in Maseru will begin with Zimbabwe’s 3-1 lead from the first leg. A goalless draw or a two-goal win will seal a place at next year’s CHAN 2020 in Cameroon.
