Gor Mahia CAF Confederations opponents on the playoffs DC Motema Pembe will camp in Rwanda ahead of their tie slated for Nairobi on Sunday 27 October.
In a statement on their official Facebook page, the team said a contingent of 40 people will leave DR Congo capital of Kinshasa on Monday 21 October at 2130hrs for Kigali where they will stay for three days.
The team is expected to be in Nairobi by Thursday 24 October for their tie slated for Sunday for the first leg of the tie with the second leg slated for a fortnight in Congo.
Gor Mahia landed at the playoff stage of the competition after being eliminated from the CAF Champions League by Algeria side USMA Algers on aggregate score and will hope that they can get better last season’s performance where they made it to the quarterfinal stage of the tournament.
This, however, will have to take place despite the team struggling financially with a section of the players said to have absconded their league win over Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday due to unpaid dues.
The move forced head coach Steve Pollack to name defender Joakim Oluoch as his interim captain with Kenneth Muguna and Joash Onyango among the players not to have featured in the game.
