Reuben Gabriel was a prominent player six years ago having won the Africa Cup of Nations then and was handed a call-up to the Super Eagles squad ahead of the FIFA World Cup the following year.

According to Football Live, Gabriel found himself making a move to Europe from the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and he was playing his best football, all while being the star player for the national team.

The 29-year-old quickly became a versatile player, having plied his trade in Scotland, Belgium and Portugal to name a few but somehow his form started to dip and then he became the 'forgotten player.'

Gabriel now finds himself playing in the Saudi Professional League for Abha FC where he was signed as a free agent after the side had been promoted to topflight last season.

The former Enyimba and Kano Pillars midfielder has managed to make seven appearances in the SPL - all in hope for him to make his way back to the Super Eagles squad.
