Former Germany international Bastian Schweinsteiger has indicated that Jose Mourinho could possibly consider taking over the reins at Bayern Munich, Sky Sports revealed.
Mourinho who was fired from Manchester United in December 2018 is believed to be the bookies' favourite to take over the recently sacked Niko Kovac at Bayern.
Schweinsteiger played for the Bundesliga giants for approximately 13 years of his footballing career - he tallied 342 appearances and scored 45 goals.
The 35-year-old played under the tutelage of Mourinho during United era - despite being used in four matches, he believes that the former Chelsea boss can make it work in the Bundesliga.
"I can imagine Mourinho in Germany", he said in an interview with Bild.
"I remember he was always asking me about Bayern and the Bundesliga. During our away games, there was always Bundesliga on TV.
"He really knew every single player, even from the smaller teams. He was also learning German.
"He has not worked in the Bundesliga, so I can well imagine that he would be tempted by a commitment in Germany."
