Argentina international forward Lautaro Martinez has officially become the first Inter Milan player to match Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o's UEFA Champions League record according to Goal.
Inter Milan have shown impressive growth under the tutelage of manager Antonio Conte and one of the players who is reaping the rewards is Martinez who is consistently finding the back of the net.
However, Inter suffered 3-2 defeat away to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night in the Champions League after Martinez and Martias Vecino had put the Nerazzurri in the lead.
Unfortunately, the Bundesliga side proved to be too good on the night when Julian Brandt's goal and Achraf Hakimi's brace sealed the deal at the final whistle.
The 22-year-old Martinez's goal was his third in a row in the Champions League which sees him level matters with Eto'o who had been the only Inter player to hold this record in 2010.
Eto'o plied his trade for Inter between 2009 and 2011 respectively - he scored 53 goals and involved himself in 25 assists from 102 appearances all while winning the treble in 2010.
