Arsenal manager Unai Emery's wish-well message to David Villa on his retirement from football has sparked an angry reaction from the club's fans.
The Spaniard joined the football world in wishing the former Spain international well after years of playing at the highest level and took to his social media to send the special message.
It was however met with angry reactions from the club's fans, who are calling for his resignation.
Emery has been under pressure in recent weeks following unimpressive results, and his future at the club is still unclear.
Villa is Spain's all-time leading scorer, and until his retirement on Wednesday, he had been playing for Japanese side Vissel Kobe.
The striker enjoyed a largely successful professional career spanning 19 years, in which time he played in Spain, Australia, Japan and America.
He was part of the team that won the 2008 Euros and the 2010 World Cup, scooping the golden boot in the former tournament and finished joint on goals with the Golden Shoe winner from the 2010 World Cup.
