Mason Greenwood reveals his Manchester United role model

Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood has named the club's top scorer Wayne Rooney as his ultimate football role model.

Greenwood became United's second-youngest player to represent the club in a European competition and the youngest ever in the Champions League era after featuring in the 3-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain.

Just like Rooney, Greenwood has broken into the United first team at a tender age but still has a long way to go if he is to match the 34-year-old's record.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Greenwood was asked to name his role model, "It has to be Rooney. The Brazilian Ronaldo, too. They’ve always stood out for me and I’ve always looked up to them. Ronaldo was quite a while ago but my dad used to show me clips of him.

"Rooney is such a great goalscorer and that is what I want to be. You have to have a role model. I’ve never seen him, though. I’ve watched his games and the highlights on YouTube. Hopefully, I’ll get to meet him one day."
